This notice covers the Pidge waitlist at pidgeapp.com. When Pidge launches, the app itself will have its own, broader privacy notice.
Who we are
Pidge is a trading name of Thomas Thomson, who is the data controller for this waitlist.

What we collect

We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies on this site, and we do not place any cookie that requires your consent.
Lawful basis
Consent, under Article 6(1)(a) UK GDPR, and Regulation 22 of PECR for the email itself. The consent you gave was:
“Email me once when Pidge launches at Cambridge, and occasionally before then about the launch. I can unsubscribe at any time.”
You can withdraw it at any time, and doing so is as easy as giving it: use the unsubscribe link in any email we send you, or email us. Withdrawing does not affect anything we did before you withdrew.
Who else sees it
- Supabase: hosts the database, in the UK (London). This is a factual claim about where the data physically sits, so if the project is ever moved to another region, this line has to move with it
- Resend: sends the email. Processes data in the EU and US under appropriate safeguards
- Vercel: hosts the site
- Cloudflare: provides the anti-bot check on the form
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone else. Nobody at the University of Cambridge receives it. Pidge is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the University or any of its colleges.
How long we keep it
Until Pidge launches and we have sent the launch email, or 18 months from signup if that comes first, at which point the record is deleted automatically. If you unsubscribe, we delete your record immediately rather than keeping it on a suppression list.
Your rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict what we do with it, or provide it in a portable format. You can also object to our processing. We will respond within one month.
Because we only hold what is listed above, the fastest route to erasure is the unsubscribe link in your email, which deletes everything we have about you.
If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. We would rather you told us first so we can put it right.
Is providing this required?
No. Joining the waitlist is entirely optional. Without an address and college we cannot add you, because we would have no way to email you or to tell whether you are at Cambridge.
